Clinics and Surgery Center Research Liaison
The Clinics and Surgery Center (CSC) Research Liaison helps studies run more smoothly within the building. Offered by the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, the service makes it easier for researchers to plan and implement studies at the CSC by providing expert guidance, clinical connections, hands-on problem-solving support, and more.
Resource for study team
- Facilitates site selection visits (SSVs)
- Facilitates meetings and connections to CSC Leadership to discuss new studies
- Assists researchers in finding solutions/processes that allow their individual studies to occur in the CSC
- Answers study team questions regarding the conduct of research in the CSC
- Facilitates access to building facilities and research material storage
- Assists with finding space for the study visits and on-site meetings
- Collaborates with the CTSI’s Recruitment Center to explore recruitment strategies in the CSC
Resource for clinic
- Serves as research point of contact for providers and staff
- Provides general research education through presentations or individual consultations
- Educates staff on active research studies
- Meets with clinics to assess research successes and challenges
- Assists with resolving patient scheduling issues
- Supports clinics in reducing barriers to research for patients
- Assists with research workflow (e.g. referring patients to a study)
- Referrals to additional resources for research support
Research awareness and participant engagement
- Increases awareness of research opportunities at the University, such as featuring StudyFinder on monitors, kiosks, and other electronic platforms for patients
- Educates providers and clinics on recruitment tools like StudyFinder and ResearchMatch
- Encourage patients to consider research participation as part of their care journey
Associated fees and funding for services
There are no fees for the investigator, study team, or department for CSC Research Liaison consultations.
